The Joffrey Ballet School stands as a distinguished institution dedicated to nurturing passionate dance students into skilled and adaptable artists. Founded by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino in 1953, the school continues to uphold its original vision by deconstructing traditional dance methodologies. This approach allows dancers to refine their technique and expressiveness, facilitating a natural and heartfelt performance style.

With over fifty years of history, the Joffrey Ballet School has consistently led the way in American dance education. Its graduates have pursued successful careers in prestigious classical ballet companies, as well as in a diverse array of modern and contemporary dance troupes both domestically and internationally.

Uniquely positioned as the only ballet school in New York City that offers a comprehensive dance curriculum, the Joffrey Ballet School provides rigorous training in classical ballet, which encompasses technique, pointe, variations, adagio, and men's classes. The program also includes contemporary ballet and various other disciplines such as modern dance, character work, choreography, dance history, music appreciation, Pilates, and yoga. To further enrich the training experience, guest faculty conduct specialized workshops. Notably, all dance classes benefit from live piano accompaniment, with live cello and percussion enhancing select contemporary and modern sessions.

The Joffrey Ballet School also offers a mobile application designed to facilitate a seamless planning experience for students. This app allows users to view class schedules, register for sessions, access ongoing promotions, and locate studio contact information. The convenience of managing one’s class schedule directly from a mobile device reflects the school’s commitment to optimizing the educational journey for its students.
